Holderness, N.H. – The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is offering multiple daily lake cruises through the fall foliage season. The daily “Explore Squam” tour at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. runs through October 18 and has something for everyone. Experience the wonders of the area where the Oscar winning-film On Golden Pond was filmed. Learn about Squam’s human history through stories of those who have enjoyed this area for more than 5,000 years, from Native Americans to modern moviemakers. Enjoy the spectacular fall foliage and wildlife of Squam Lake (including viewing of Loons and Bald Eagles). Binoculars are available for wildlife viewing.
The “Nature of the Lakes” tours run at 4:00 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
through October 15. These tours are led by one of the Science Center’s Educator/Naturalists and focus on the wildlife, natural history and ecology of Squam Lake.
Science Center Lake Cruises depart from the dock on Route 3 at the bridge, next to Walter’s Basin Restaurant in downtown Holderness (unless high lake levels require an alternate launch. Call ahead to confirm departure location). Cruise passes are $22/non-member adults ($20 for members); $20 for non-member seniors ($18 for members); and $18 for non-member youth (ages 3-15) ($16 for members). Children ages 2 and under are free. Discounted Trail/Cruise combo passes are available.
Pre-registration for ALL Science Center Lake Cruises is strongly encouraged. Call 603-968-7194.

About Squam Lakes Natural Science Center
The mission of the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center (SLNSC) is to advance understanding of ecology by exploring New Hampshire’s natural world. Through spectacular live animal exhibits, natural science education programs, and lake cruises, the Science Center has educated and enlightened visitors for more than forty years about the importance of our natural world. Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is located on Route 113 in Holderness, an easy drive from exit 24 off I-93, and is open daily from May 1 through November 1. In September 2006, SLNSC gained national accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
